Passport Auto Group is a family-owned and operated business established in 1991. The Passport organization is made up of over 700 talented employees from across the DMV area. We have been blessed with a loyal group of over 120 employees with tenures of 10+ years and a team demographic that brightly reflects the diverse cultures of our nation’s capital.

Since 1991, Passport Auto Group has been proud to serve our Washington, D.C. community with excellence in sales, service, and customer care. Philanthropy has been at the core of our enterprise since the very beginning. Collectively, the dealerships and owners have contributed over $4 million to local and international nonprofit organizations.

Passport's Beginnings

In 1991, the first Passport locations, Passport BMW and Passport Nissan, opened in Suitland, Maryland, and we are still proudly open today. Over thirty years later, Passport has nine dealerships, and a collision center serving Maryland, D.C., and Virginia. From the first day of opening, our goal of keeping our customers first has always remained the same.

Everett Hellmuth, owner and President of Passport Auto, started Passport over thirty years ago, with Jay Klein, now Vice President of Passport Auto, by his side. The two have remained business partners and great friends to this day.
