Passport Raised $36,000+ to Donate Central Union

 Passport Cares

Passport Auto Group employees were inspired to help the local community during the Fall 2021 holiday season and launched a campaign to raise donations for one of Washington D.C.’s oldest emergency homeless shelters, Central Union Mission. Passport has had the distinct pleasure of partnering with Central Union Mission for over six years, and the holiday campaign was a great way to engage their employees in holistic charitable giving. In just two months, Passport Auto Group employees pledged over $18,000 for Central Union Mission. With an additional company match from President, Everett Hellmuth, and Vice President, Jay Klein, Passport Auto Group was able to double the contribution total to $36,000 towards serving those who provide life-sustaining food and shelter and long-term community transformation in the Washington D.C. area.

Central Union Mission is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and the oldest private social service agency in Washington, DC. In addition to its emergency shelter, which provides over 62,000 Bed Nights each year, the Mission operates a holistic, Christ-centered transformation and workforce development program for men, provides benefits for veterans, helps people overcome addictions, operates a food and clothing distribution center, which provides food for over 4,000 each month, runs a camp for underprivileged children, and offers a ministry to families and senior citizens.
